Differentiating Writing Across the Curriculum - Elementary Cycles 2 & 3

The main goal of these materials is to help
differentiate the writing process for learners
by providing teachers and students with a
variety of materials to support the writing
process in the classroom, across contexts
and subject areas. The ten genres include:
Adventure, Article, Autobiography, Comic,
Fantasy, Letters, Mystery, Photo Essay,
Report, Presentation.

Teacher Materials:
A description of the genre, purposes for writing,
structures and features, mini-lesson
ideas, QEP competency links and activity
ideas, two types of revision tools, two types
of graphic organizers.

Student Materials:
Two samples of the genre, question cards
that guide students to consider various features,
description card, definition card.
