About Dotplan
Dotplan offers the user an interface that includes all the elements of the curriculum (broad areas of learning, cross-curricular and subject area competencies, essential knowledges, competency scales) and all the elements of a learning situation (guiding question, strategies, learning processes specific to each discipline, evaluation criteria, learning activities). But the user does more than simply tick of choices. The tool continuously presents choices made in order to help build coherence. Dotplan was designed to help educators plan their Learning and Evaluation Situations in light of our Québec Education Program. It therefore carries a vision of learning in line with all the elements of the QEP. It renders the links between the QEP and the LES explicit, both visually and interactively.
There were three objectives with its creation:
- To provide a tool to model curriculum planning with the QEP
- To be able to share learning situations and to work collaboratively
- To deepen users' understanding of the QEP
When accessing the application on-line, the user will find his/her own learning situations, those others have shared with him/her as well as plublicly available situations. Moreover, several people can edit the same situation both synchronously and asynchronouly,
Dotplan is available both in English and French (Planif) . It is designed for the anglophone and francophone sectors, Elementary and Secondary. It contains the entire QEP and PFQ in English and in French.
